The show must go on! Check out the greatest Hungarian ’home flashmob’ – VIDEO

The greatest Hungarian ‘home flashmob’ has been carried out by the cooperation of 200 musicians who performed the legendary hit by Queen in a quarantine video. The initiative has been supported by doctors, police officers, and firemen, emphasising that if we stay home now, the show will go on soon.

As Hungarian news portal Blikk reports, home quarantine cannot be spent in a more useful way than in the case of the 200 musicians who were thinking about creating something unique. The result speaks for itself. They performed and recorded a special version of the world-famous Queen song “The Show must go on”.

Zsolt Révész, the communications manager of Cityrocks – Hungary’s largest rock band –, said that it was no coincidence that there are Italian references in the film, as the creator of the rock flashmob genre is the Italian Rockin 1000 band. The video serves as a message for them as well. 

“Everyone is struggling these days; still, we don’t know a better solution to stop the epidemic than staying home.”

“That is why we were delighted with all the doctors, police officers, disaster management leaders who stood by us and also encouraged people to stay home through our music video. All our respect and gratitude go to those who make sacrifices so that the biggest show – our normal life – can continue. We dedicate this video to them,” Zsolt Révész emphasised.

The call for a home flashmob was announced by Cityrocks organizers when the curfew was announced. “We thought that if 40-50 people applied, it could be used to make a very nice short film. Eventually, 200 people sent in their videos,” said the communications manager.

Musicians and filmmakers of Cityrocks pay tribute with the video to all those – living anywhere in the world – who make unprecedented sacrifices for us in these difficult times. 

“The rock flashmob is about having a path that everyone can walk together without any distinction. This will be our business even after the epidemic, and we don’t need an instrument or a microphone, we can do it anywhere and anytime,” added Zsolt Révész.

In previous years, Cityrocks Production organised rock flashmobs in Szeged and Kecskemét with the participation of hundreds of people. Even though the current situation rewrites everything, community experience and the joy of playing music together have been successfully realised through the video.
