Almost everybody gets more money in the government than PM Orbán

An excerpt of the personal income declarations of the members of the Hungarian government was published on kormany.hu. Based on that, PM Viktor Orbán has the second-lowest salary, only justice minister Judit Varga takes home less money.
Meanwhile, Antal Rogán, leader of the Cabinet Office of the Prime Minister, gets the highest salary – 24.hu reported. According to the document, his tax base is 32.4 million HUF (EUR 676,000), but that sum probably came together not only from his ministerial wage but also some other sources like patent royalties. This is how his annual salary is nine times more than PM Viktor Orbán’s who gets only approximately 1.5 million HUF per month (around 4,362 EUR) so
the prime minister’s tax base barely reached 26.5 million HUF (EUR 77,000) in 2019.
Only justice minister Judit Varga received less than her boss, 20.3 million HUF (EUR 59,000).

János Süli, Minister Without Portfolio for the Enlargement of the Paks Nuclear Power Station, had to pay tax after 71.7 million HUF (EUR 208,535). In contrast, Andrea Bártfai-Mager, Minister without Portfolio for the Management of National Assets, paid after 63.5 million HUF (EUR 184,600).
