Latest news from Budapest Airport for travellers!
Below you find the latest Airport Bulletin released by Liszt Ferenc International Airport.
304 596 passengers departed from Budapest in July
Compared with the previous month, passenger traffic at Liszt Ferenc International Airport grew threefold in July: while 84 781 passengers used the airport in June, this figure increased to 304 596 in July. Although this represents an 81% drop versus July 2019, the latest data clearly demonstrates the gradual return of propensity to travel, thanks to new and re-launched scheduled services and the increasingly extensive range of destinations offered. On the other hand, passengers are regaining trust in safe travelling, due to the airport operator’s diligent and proven hygiene measures and distancing concepts. In August, 500 direct flights per week are available in Budapest to 98 destinations.

Liszt Ferenc International Airport handled 10 695 tons of air cargo in July 2020.
Quarantine forms to download: passengers can also support smooth entry into Hungary
Budapest Airport and the Airport Police Directorate have arranged for online availability of the form to be filled in by passengers arriving from countries under quarantine obligation (countries in the red or yellow category).
Budapest Airport is asking passengers that if they arrive from countries affected by the quarantine obligation and – based on regulations detailed in the relevant government decree – they have to go to controlled home quarantine, they should support smooth entry into Hungary by filling in the respective form in advance. Waiting time at the border is significantly reduced if passengers use the opportunity to fill in the form in advance.

The form is validated on entry into Hungary by the authorities; passengers are only requested to fill in their personal data.

Passengers at Liszt Ferenc International Airport are checked in accordance with the effective regulations detailed in the relevant government decree and authority requirements. During the immigration procedure passengers arriving from countries in the yellow and red categories are processed in a separate area. Thus, passengers under quarantine obligation are not in contact with passengers arriving from green countries.
The refurbished departure hall of T2A is open for passengers
Using the opportunity presented by lower traffic levels, Budapest Airport replaces floor tiles in the departure (check-in) hall of Terminal 2A. The hall was re-opened in several stages up to August, aligned with the pace of return of traffic. The light-colored new tiles create a clear and transparent space for passengers.
