Budapest – Super Cup final to be the test round of organising international matches in front of fans?
Based on the decision of the European Football Association (UEFA), the European Super Cup on 24th September will be held in front of spectators at Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
According to the announcement of the Hungarian Football Association (MLSZ), this event will enable the European Football Association to examine the impacts of allowing a limited number of fans to attend international meetings, provided that appropriate precautions are taken.
The capacity of the stadium is 67,000 spectators, out of which 30% of the spectator capacity can be used in the clash between the Champions League winner Bayern Munich and the Europa League winner Sevilla in Budapest.
As the Hungarian news portal SzeretlekMagyarország reports, UEFA has confirmed that all other international matches will be held behind closed doors until otherwise decided.
“We hope that the Super Cup Final in Budapest Puskás Aréna will be the first step in organising international matches again in front of fans. We work closely with the Hungarian association and the Hungarian government to ensure that the necessary measures are taken to protect the health of participants and supporters.” – said Aleksander Ceferin, President of UEFA.
Hungarian fans will be informed soon about ticket purchase options.

Hungarians and their health used as subjects for an experiment. Hungarians seen as totally dispensable. No wonder nobody has much respect for us…
Hungarian authorities are playing with fire. Very irresponsible.
Guys!
Life must go on!
We must protect the vulnerable and elderly citizens but the other people must get back to normal life now.
With the gradual relaxing of restrictions over the past 6 weeks there has been an increase in the number if cases detected.
That was expected and the hospitals are ready should there be serious cases to deal with.
There is no need to panic!
