Foreign minister attends Hungarian-Azeri business forum in Baku
Baku, March 6 (MTI) – Foreign minister Péter Szijjártó attended a business forum for Hungarian and Azeri companies in Baku on Sunday.
In his opening address, Szijjártó called the host country a “stable partner”, an “ally and friend” Hungary needs in light of recent challenges.
Szijjártó said bilateral ties were based on “mutual respect and friendship”, a basis to build mutually beneficial business cooperation.
After the forum, Szijjártó told reporters that participants had signed agreements to promote Hungarian investment in Azerbaijan’s agriculture and to introduce Hungarian urban operations technologies. Accords were also signed under which Hungarian companies could participate in Azerbaijan’s switching to an electronic road toll system, as well as to electronic public administration and trade, the minister said.
The forum was attended by representatives of 44 Hungarian and 116 local companies.
