Parliament speaker to visit South Africa, Namibia
Budapest, March 9 (MTI) – House Speaker László Kövér will begin an official visit to the South African Republic and Namibia on Tuesday, his office told MTI.
Kövér will hold talks in Cape Town with his South African counterpart Baleka Mbete, as well as Thandi Modise, the chairperson of the National Council of Province, and Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, the country’s deputy president, the office said.
He will meet members of the Hungarian community in Johannesburg, address a commemoration of the March 15 Hungarian national holiday and lay a wreath at a monument to the 1956 anti-Soviet revolution.
Kövér will next travel to Namibia to hold talks with Peter Katjavivi, his counterpart in that country, as well as with Vice President Nickey Iyambo and Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.
Kövér will also meet members of the local Hungarian community.
