Budapest has a new five star luxury hotel

It’s official: there’s a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Budapest. The Hungarian capital has joined the luxurious hotel chain last year. It was announced by the company via Twitter, travelo.hu writes.
The building gave home to the Le Meridien hotel, but the owner’s (Starwood Hotels) contract was terminated, and it
wasn’t renewed. Instead, a contract was made with the Ritz-Carlton. Word is that the building’s renovation is almost complete; it was formerly known as the Adria Palace, and was purchased by the Al-Habtoor Group in 2012. There are 192 rooms and 26 suits in the hotel.
The label “Ritz-Carlton” is already on the building and the Ritz-Carlton Budapest should open early this spring. Rooms and suites can already be booked, and it shouldn’t take long until the opening date is revealed, turizmusonline was informed.

The hotel is on Elizabeth Square, and has undergone a complex transformation, but the building’s original style of architecture was conserved. The traditional style is mixed with modern plans; the open atmosphere attracts local guests as well.
