During the holidays, the number of destinations where you could travel directly from Hungary grew a bit. At the end of December, their total number was 51, but this number will decrease significantly again from mid-January.
According to utazomajom.hu, one can travel from Budapest to London, Basel, Stockholm, and Eindhoven with Wizz Air. From Debrecen, only London will be accessible with the Hungarian low-cost airline from mid-January. In the case of Ryanair, the trend is the same:
only London, Edinburgh, and Dublin will remain possible destinations from Hungary.
From mid-January, EasyJet will go only to Basel.
KLM will fly only to Amsterdam, Air France to Paris, Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, the Polish LOT to Warsaw, Wrocław, and Seoul, the Russian Aeroflot to Moscow, and Egypt Air to Cairo and Hurghada. Emirates will go only to Dubai, British Airways to London, Finnair to Helsinki, Lufthansa to Frankfurt, Qatar Airways to Doha, and Swiss to Zürich. And that is all. There will be no more direct flights from Hungary abroad this month.
Most of the flights are for business,
except for Hurghada where people still travel to spend their holiday near the sea. Of course, if you choose to change flights, every part of the world is accessible, but before booking the accommodation, everybody should check the conditions of entering the country.

- The Hungarian COVID-19 passport will be one of the most important documents of 2021
As we reported before, there are a lot of people who cannot wait to travel after a long period of lockdown: the majority of tourists want to know about the certificate for the coronavirus vaccination, what to expect next year, for example, and whether they can enter a country without the certificate. The safety and proper information of consumers are the most important aspects in relation to health and travel, says the National Federation of Associations for Consumer Protection in Hungary (NFACPH).
They remind us that
protecting health is a primary consideration in any investigation carried out by the consumer protection authorities,
i.e. they make sure that a particular product is examined with the utmost care to ensure that it is not dangerous to the consumer, Magyar Nemzet wrote. Services, such as travelling, can also undergo such examinations.
Consumer advocates are calling attention to the fact that the passenger also has a great responsibility; for example, they must always make sure that they take out accident and health insurance. However, it is the consumer’s choice to decide whether to enter into a contract or bear the consequences of its absence if they fall ill abroad. It is also up to every person to decide whether to vaccinate of their own accord – as long as a country does not require a vaccination certificate upon entry.
People need to be prepared for each state to require a vaccination certificate at any point, experts warn. They add that, even before the epidemic broke out, many countries could only be visited by tourists if they vaccinated against certain diseases.
This was proved by a certificate registered in a small, yellow booklet.
It will probably not be any different in the current pandemic situation.
