IOC: Budapest Olympic proposal is one of the best
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) reviewed the proposals of the candidate cities of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in its Lausanne’s four-day meeting – the committee found Budapest’s proposal as being one of the very best.
The 2024’s Olympic candidate cities are Los Angeles, Budapest, Paris and Rome.
“We can say after reviewing the documents that each of the four cities presented excellent proposals. All proposals reflect the IOC’s Agenda 2020 reform program that puts rational organization and economic viability in the center of the Olympic Games. The candidate cities put special emphasis on sustainability and on the secondary use of sports facilities. We are satisfied with what we have seen so far,” said former silver medalist sprinter and the Chairman of the Evaluation Committee of the Olympics Frankie Fredericks to Insidethegames.biz portal.
The Hungarian presentation is markedly different from that of the others; it is the only one that offers to several cities to participate in the organization of Olympic events, allowing 90 percent of the country’s population to reach at least one Olympic event within 90 minutes.
