Hungarian radical party attacks the obligatory vaccination of healthcare employees!

The recent decision continues to cause difficulty both in Hungarian politics and in the healthcare system of the country.
As DNH recently reported, the vaccination of healthcare workers will be obligatory starting from September 1. The issue of the jabs and whether it should be obligatory or not is still a question that divides society. Many people are afraid of the side effects it may cause, while others simply say that this should be decided freely by every single citizen.
When a healthcare worker is hesitant or is against being vaccinated, it causes further complications. Already before the decision was final, DNH wrote about the possible outcome. Many doctors were considering leaving either the profession or the country in the case the measure was introduced. Now that it is in effect, and every healthcare worker will be obligated to receive the vaccine, the already low number of professionals in the sector will further decrease.

All this comes after the government announced a new work contract for healthcare professionals in the middle of the pandemic. Since then, some details were reconsidered, but still, several aspects of it make people leave the work they love.
So many healthcare professionals have already left that the Uzsoki Hospital of Budapest had to close its emergency unit on Wednesday from 18:00,
writes 444.hu. The reason is that so many doctors who were previously employed at more than one hospital or clinic decided to resign. It resulted in such a shortage of healthcare professionals that the president of the hospital, Dr Ferenc Tóth, had no choice but to stop the operation of the emergency unit, except for the traumatology unit. Patients in grave conditions are being directed to three other hospitals in the capital.
This is taken straight from Orwell’s 1984. Now the radicals are those demanding respect for individuals’ right of choosing what enters into their bodies, while those making vaccinations mandatory are the moderate (i.e. “reasonable”) ones.
Healthcare workers, especially doctors swear to ‘do no harm’ when providing services to patients. The chance that they could infect someone who is already suffering from other health related problems & likely has a compromised immune system is unacceptable. If they have pride in their profession they would want to be role-models to others that Covid vaccines are as safe as other vaccines which have eradicated polio, measles, lockjaw and so many other extremely harmful attacks on health. That they have faith in the science and the scientists, who are also part of the healthcare system.
Many workplaces will need to ensure that all staff are vaccinated, same as they ensure that the worksite itself is safe. As a nursing student I had to have all kinds of vaccines before I was allowed to do my practicum in a nursing home, in a hospital, in people’s own homes. I have had to have vaccines before I could travel to certain places. The vaccines protect me, protect others from me. WinWin.
The problem is the current set of vaccines appear to neither prevent infection nor transmission, they are merelyprophylactic agents, so comparing them to polio and measles vaccinations is comparing apples and oranges
