“Smart hotel” opens in Budapest in September – PHOTOS

Up Hotel Budapest will open its doors on September 1st in the city centre, close to Oktogon Square.

Domestic tourism takes off in Hungary 

At the end of July, DNH attended the opening ceremony of the Crowne Plaza Budapest Hotel, next to Nyugati Railway Station. In just a week, another beautiful and stylish hotel will start its journey in the Hungarian capital, at an equally frequented and popular location.

Up Hotel Budapest’s motto, “Being smart is always a good idea”, is reflected in every detail. The 157-room brand-new hotel is ready to welcome everyone with its genuine yet smart hospitality.

Their modern electronic solutions and smart devices will make procedures much faster and easier.

The hotel’s own application makes check-in and check-out possible, while your smartphone will also act as your room key.

The appliances in every hotel room, like heating or AC, are controlled from a tablet. The device also enables guests to contact the Front Desk or make local phone calls.

The building, which gives a home to the hotel, has historical importance in the Hungarian industry. It belonged to industrialist Károly Lajos Posner and functioned as a printing house. Thus, conserving the original building, especially the ferroconcrete structure built in the 19th century as a top technological development, was an important aspect.

The renovated and extended hotel building has the old walls with a twist of modernisation that converted the industrial presence into a modern appearance fitting the new living space.

You can find two conference rooms on the ground floor. As turizmus.com writes, further plans include a bar on the top of the hotel which could become one of the biggest rooftop bars of the capital.
