This is your most important document if you want to move into a university dorm!
Change language:
Many Hungarian universities require their students to have an immunity certificate if they want to move into the dorms. Two of them are Semmelweis University in Budapest and Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger.
According to eduline.hu, the students who did not have an immunity certificate did not receive beds in some university dorms. The ministry sent a package of proposals regarding the pandemic to the universities this week. They stated, for example, how the institutions should disinfect rooms, how they should house foreign students, and how they can organise events. Based on that document,
the universities have the opportunity to prescribe immunity certificates as a prerequisite for moving into a dorm.
However, the decision of whether to apply that or not remains with the higher education institutions.
Marcell Budai, the press chief of the National Union of Students in Hungary (HÖOK), previously told ATV that it might happen that some universities would exclude unprotected students from the dorms. Furthermore, he added that
some institutions would give plus points for those who have both jabs.
There are some universities in the first category already. At Semmelweis University, the students who do not have an immunity certificate cannot move into the dorms. Eszterházy Károly Catholic University in Eger decided to do the same, and the same rules apply to foreign students.
