Worst thieves in Hungary – Stolen car sold for only € 170
A Nissan Primera was stolen on August 19 in Nagytétény. The thieves sold the car for only HUF 60,000 (€ 170). They certainly regret their deeds as the police identified and caught them in a matter of days.
The car had been parked unused by the owner for a while. This is what actually made the car an easy target, or so the two criminals thought because if a car is left unused, nobody will be looking for it.
The two men even came prepared with a trailer on which they towed the car away. The plan of getting away with the car and then getting away with the crime would have definitely worked, had the owner not made a report to the police regarding the stolen vehicle.

Police officers started looking for the car and the thieves, and have found the footage of a security camera that recorded the entire action. It turned out to be a very helpful tool in the search and the investigators carefully watched the recordings.
The camera have recorded that two men got out of a trailer and then towed the car with it. That is not all, however, as another recording was found that showed which way the thieves left the scene, wrote Index.
Police.hu wrote that they found the two suspects, one man aged 26 and the other 28, travelling through Érd in the very same trailer they used to perform the crime. The police immediately stopped the vehicle and detained the two perpetrators, Norbert G. and Attila V.
After their arrest, they admitted their crime and told the police officers that they have sold the stolen car at a By-product and Waste Recovery Company (MÉH-telep) and it was crushed and torn to pieces.
Allegedly they have received around HUF 60,000 which is around € 170, a ridiculously small amount of money for a car worth millions.
