The European Commission on Friday said it decided to ask the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to start fining Hungary for the country’s failure to comply with a CJEU ruling on the application of rules on asylum and return.
The EC is asking the CJEU to impose financial sanctions in the form of a lump sum and a daily penalty payment.
The EC noted that the CJEU ruled on December 17, 2020, that Hungarian legislation on rules and practices in transit zones on the country’s border with Serbia violated EU law.
The EC noted that the CJEU ruled on December 17, 2020, that Hungarian legislation on rules and practices in transit zones on the country’s border with Serbia violated EU law.
“As of today, Hungary has not addressed several aspects of the judgment. In particular, Hungary has not taken the measures necessary to ensure
effective access to the asylum procedure.
Hungary has also not clarified the conditions pertaining to the right to remain on the territory in case of an appeal in an asylum procedure, in the event where there is no ‘crisis situation caused by mass immigration’,” the EC said.
In response, the Hungarian government’s communications centre (KTK) said that “Brussels won’t rest” until it forces another procedure and penalty onto Hungary over its migration rules. In a statement, the KTK insisted that the EU was “putting pressure on Hungary for our protecting the borders and saying no to accommodating migrants”.

The far-left, liberal, globalist, Marxist EU harassment and nonsense outweigh any advantage of membership.
I am often critical of Fidesz-KDNP getting too chummy with brutal Muslim dictators like Erdogan of Turkey, Aliyev of Azerbaijan and communist China BUT I can see that with the constant harassment by the EU, the V4 members remain our only European partners worth anything.
I would hate to see Hungary getting closer to Putin and Russia but it may be something forced upon us by the constant EU harassment.
Time to think about HUNGXIT.
Istvan, we must learn tolerance for the less fortunate from the middle east and Africa. Why cannot we all learn to love our fellow human no matter where they came from and what brought them here. I am certain that they just want to live together in a global community and share their culture and traditions with the rest of the world. Why must we whom live in Hungary be so intollerant?
I didn’t think you could spew out more than one-liner Hungarian hating garbage.
Somebody must have written for you this propaganda.
It is not about tolerance or intolerance.
We, Hungarians are a tolerant people, far more tolerant than the globalist, Marxist far-left.
We never owned any of these blacks, never exploited the Middle-East, Africa, Asia and the rest of the world colonized and exploited by the West.
It is not our responsibility to pay for the crimes of West.
These illegal migrants don’t want to be part of our society, work to support themselves but to live-off others and murder us when they feel like it.
We want Hungary to remain a free and independent, Christian country our forefathers fought to preserve for us.
What country do you call your home?
Magyarország a magyaroké!
Istavin- great reply- maybe we can ask Mario where where his comment has worked- it only 20-30 years Western Europe has drastically changed and only getting worse.
The biggest danger to Hungary is the west included and radical leftist garbage forced on it, with threat of with holding money. I wonder if these clowns know who paid for the reconstruction of Europe- much never repaid- same with NATO.
Let Hungarians make domestic policy for Hungary. Not the elitist, globalists in Brussels and Switzerland. Fine … go ahead … put the EU on a payment plan for the fine … one florist a year.
The incredible bad Brussels’ policy is created the chaos on the border of Poland and Belarus. So far, Brussels has not made a decision regarding economic illegal immigration that was successful. There was terrorism in France, Great Britain, Belgium and Germany. Furthermore, the number of people murdered or beheaded by the illegals is on the rise. Women are no longer safe and rape is a regular occurrence in Sweden, Germany and occasionally in Austria. Other criminal activities committed by illegals is also on the rise. These people, certainly. did not assimilate in their new homes. Less than 50% of these people are gainfully employed in regular jobs, not make shift work programs by governments. Yet, Brussels have not changed its policy on the illegals.
Since Hungary closed its border, many other countries followed, such as Denmark, Austria, V4, Slovenia, Croatia and Greece.
All economic illegal aliens had the chance to apply for legal immigrant status at Consulates in countries crossed. How dare these illegals pay thousand of dollars to smugglers, show up at foreign borders and force them selves on the hardworking taxpayers.
If Western Europe wanted any of these mostly uneducated people, the representatives of these countries could visit countries such Bosnia, interview the illegal migrant and allow them entry. This is not happening. No civilized European society wants to support the illegals and their extended family for the rest of their lives.
The globalists are manipulating Brussels. Brussels does not have the courage to establish rules that benefit the EU population. The legal migrant have always been and asset to their new homes. Refugees must always be protected. It is time for Brussels to enact laws that would benefit its citizens.
It is time for the EU to stop annoying Hungary for mistakes for their erroneous policies. Laws enacted should benefit the people of the EU and not the globalist puppet masters.
Here is the thing, Hungary has the right to determine its own future. It never took part in colonization and imperialists unlike Western European countries. Their lecturing to Hungary reeks of hypocrisy and arrogance.
However, at the same time, Hungary has also been shaped by its past interaction with Muslim countries. Recently, it was discovered that the Arpad dynasty had connections to Afghanistan. Thus, it is also why Hungary is in the Turkic Council as an observer due to its heritage and past of Turkic tribes coming over and settling in Hungary/assimilating with the local population.
Thus, Hungary has the right to determine its future. However, its politicans should also remember about its past to refrain from saying hateful words.
Hungary should be suing Brussels for the protection of Europe. Put the migrants on busses and ship them directly to France and Belgium, they want them, they should have them!
If one wants to emigrate, there are proper, LEGAL procedures in place. Tearing down border fences and running roughshod over a nations countryside is not the proper way.
