The Romanian police found out that firearms, ammunition, and explosives were sent to Romania by courier from Hungary. Investigations took place at 103 places, writes foter.ro. Weapons were advertised on a website registered under a Hungarian address. People from 35 counties ordered firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
The police found 83 guns, 32 pistols, a signal pistol, a long weapon, 2 arbalests, 2 cartridges, 43 pyrotechnics items, and 211 packs of cigarettes, likely to have come from smuggling.
News.ro reported that a person was operating a website under a Hungarian address. On the website, many weapons, firearms, and explosives were advertised and put up for sale.
People who decided to buy these weapons got them by rapid courier. Among the weapons, many are lethal, and all of them were illegally brought to Romania.
The selling and buying were against the law in terms of legally buying and legally delivering such weapons. Neither the seller nor the buyers had permissions to engage in such activity. Therefore, this technically equals smuggling weapons. The Romanian police are still investigating the case. The couriers did not know what they were actually delivering.
The police went out to 103 addresses, and 303 police officers collaborated in order to find the illegal weapons and other dangerous items.
