Miniature Winter Wonderland in Szarvas – PHOTOS

Are you one of those people who want to see everything Hungary has to offer but simply do not have the time, money or energy to go sightseeing? Then the Mini Hungary Mock-up Park is for you!

The Mini Hungary Mock-up Park features mock-ups of all the famous sights and places of Hungary in one place. Here, you can admire the Tihany Abbey just a few steps away from Bojnice Castle and Dorozsma Windmill. In the model park, you can see miniature replicas of nearly a hundred famous buildings that are found in Hungary or in former, historic Hungary.

Recently, on their Facebook page, the mock-up park posted some pictures of the magical winter wonderland that is currently exhibited there. Check out their photos!

As the park’s official site says,

“A collection of miniature replicas portraying Hungary’s architectural wonders can be found in the centre of historic Hungary, in Mini Hungary in Szarvas.”

This Mini Hungary is the only mock-up park in the country. The mock-ups also come with sound effects and some can even move. The mock-up park can be found in the enchanting Szarvas Arboretum. According to their Facebook description, the mock-ups can be found “[…] in the beautiful natural setting of the Szarvas Arboretum”, and the Park can bring “hundreds of years of history back to life in front of our eyes”.

“Among other interactive model buildings, the Mini Hungary in Szarvas is home to the country’s longest outdoor model railway network, where visitors can control the most beautiful trains of Hungarian railway history at the push of a button.” writes 

As Csodahelyek.hu writes, the sailing boats of Balaton, trains and castles are the most popular replicas among children and adults alike. You can even follow the train lines throughout the entire mock-up park. The site also adds that the haunted Bojnice Castle is one of the most interesting sights in the park. There is a legend linked to the old building which says that

the castle is haunted by a black lady.
