Even though many claim that there is no such thing as Valentine’s Day in Hungary, it is still a popular day loved and enjoyed by countless people in the country. We have compiled a list of some of the most romantic places in Budapest that you could visit with your significant other – or even alone.
1. Margaret Island

Probably included in every single list that features places worth visiting in Budapest, Margaret Island is deservedly so widely loved by Hungarians and tourists alike. Take a walk with your partner in the Japanese Garden or sit for a while in the Light Garden after the sun has set. Do not forget to check the Music Fountain, either – it is close to Margaret Bridge, so it is right there either when you arrive at or leave the island.
2. Városliget (City Park)

Városliget is the second-biggest park in Budapest – so, it is perfect for a long, romantic walk, holding hands. If you get tired, just sit on a bench from where you can also watch playful dogs chasing balls – or a squirrel. Take some food with you, if you wish, so you can have a Valentine’s Day picnic next to the City Park Lake.
