Maltese Charity to distribute some EUR 1.3m in donations among refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine
The Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta on Thursday said it would distrubte a record half a billion forints (EUR 1.3m) in donations among refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.
The Hungarian unit of German retailer KiK has donated 60,000 gift cards worth 8,000 forints each which refugees can exchange for clothing or other items in any of KiK’s Hungarian stores until July 31, the charity said in a statement.
A portion of the gift cards will be delivered to the refugees directly by the Maltese Charity, with the rest to be delivered by other charity groups, the statement said.
As we wrote yesterday, every third Hungarian citizen has actively helped people fleeing Ukraine, details HERE.
