A Hungarian world star and a world-renowned scientist have been knighted!
Erika Miklósa, opera singer, and Tamás Freund, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, have joined the ranks of the Honorary Knights of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
The two new knights were awarded the title of Chevalier d’Honneur and the accompanying necklace at the international meeting of the prestigious international gastronomic organisation on Saturday. The two Hungarians, who have won world-renowned accolades, were nominated for this prestigious award by the Hungarian chapter of the organisation, which was approved by the president of the world body, Turizmus Online reports.
The special inauguration event took place on Saturday evening at the Marriott Hotel in Budapest and attracted participants from 19 countries. The Hungarian organisation of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs aims to develop and promote the Hungarian gastronomic and wine culture in Hungary and abroad. The Hungarian celebrities who have just been awarded honorary knighthoods are actively involved in the realisation of this noble goal. Both Erika Miklósa and Tamás Freund are world-famous personalities in their fields and can do a lot to achieve this goal.
