Another Hungarian four-star hotel closes! – PHOTOS
Despite the increased energy prices, the Aquaticum bath in Debrecen will remain open throughout the year, although with increased prices. However, Hotel Lycium will temporarily close from mid-November due to renovations.
Hotel Lycium closes due to renovations
The four-star Hotel Lycium’s planned renovation will begin sooner than anticipated, reports turizmus.com. Because of the renovations, the hotel will be temporarily closed from 15 November. Hotel Lycium came to this decision in agreement with the owner Debreceni Vagyonkezelő Zrt. after evaluating a number of different economic models. Considering the overhead costs, which have increased by hundreds of millions of forints, the hotel will start the renovations already in November.
The events planned until 31 December, 2022 will be held
After the completion of the comprehensive renovation, Lycium will be able to serve its individual guests as well as corporate partners at an even higher level in the heart of Debrecen. Although the expected opening date has not been specified yet, the hotel promises that they will inform guests about the steps of the renovation. Those guests who have already reserved a room will be offered an alternative option for accommodation. In addition, events planned until 31 December, 2022 will still be held at the hotel with the full staff present. The Kölcsey Center will be continuously available to partners for events, they added.
Aquaticum Debrecen is not closing, but getting more expensive
While the Lycium closes permanently, the Aquaticum Debrecen remains open, writes dehir.hu. Aquaticum Debrecen Kft. issued a press release, in which they inform you that all the services of the Aquaticum Debrecen SPA units will be available throughout the year, despite the increased energy prices and the difficult economic situation. In Debrecen, no one has to give up water experiences, the Mediterranian Experience Bath, the Thermal Bath, or the medical department. The Aquaticum Thermal and Wellness Hotel awaits guests who would like to continue to enjoy these services.
