PHOTOS, VIDEO: Legendary Hungarian restaurant closes because of the energy crisis
A legendary Hungarian restaurant in Transdanubia is forced to close because of the soaring energy prices.
Vidra Csárda, located near Vámosszabadi, between GyĹ‘r and the Danube River, a few kilometres South of the Slovakian-Hungarian border, is forced to close. The legendary restaurant of Hungary’s Transdanubia was open for 26 years. The restaurant is on a puszta, near a fishing pond. It was popular because of its dishes prepared from their fish and the beautiful environment where everybody could relax, 24.hu said.
The restaurant announced its closure on its Facebook page. They said they survived the great flood of the Danube and the closure because of the coronavirus epidemic and even the labour shortage. However, they could not tackle the soaring energy and food prices. The last day the place is open will be on 23 December.
The restaurant thanked all their co-workers and, of course, their guests for the past more than two decades. They did not write about a possible reopening if the energy and food prices decrease.
