The officers of the traffic department at the Budapest police headquarters took part in the famous dance competition. Below you may check out their video already watched by more than 7 million users of YouTube. Furthermore, it has been chosen as one of the world’s best.
Police Major Ingrid Nothoff, an officer of the Communications Department of the Budapest Police Headquarters responsible for creative content, talked about the so-called Jerusalema challenge to Borsonline, a Hungarian tabloid. She said they wanted to partake to mark Saint George’s Day, who is the patron saint of the police. Furthermore, they wanted to thank the residents of Budapest with the video for their patience during the COVID restrictions. She added they prepared for the shooting for months to create a performance as professional as possible.
Before, the Hungarian Prison Service also did the Jerusalema dance. Therefore, traffic department officers needed to come up with new ideas for their performance. Below you may check out the version of the prison service:
Ms Nothoff said that 52 police officers and employees of the police joined the challenge. It was a perfect team building opportunity since they shot the videos in multiple iconic Budapest venues. Furthermore, most people do not work in one place, so they could talk with others during the shootings because many did not even know each other.
They prepared for the performance only before and after their work, and learning the choreography lasted for a long time. Police captain Orsolya Horváth was the teacher, Nothoff added. She had worked as a dance teacher and fitness trainer before. She even took a traditional cloth from Kalocsa, a city in South Hungary.
