VIDEO: Fake drug dealer caught in Budapest party district
A fake drug dealer selling marjoram and icing sugar was caught by police in a Budapest party district.
Over the weekend, the Budapest Police Headquarters raided the party district with a total of 93 police officers, 444.hu reports. 607 stops, 307 vehicle checks and 248 probes resulted in 9 arrests, 13 detentions, 4 security measures, 6 reports of offences, 32 on-the-spot fines and 4 administrative fines.
Among others, police caught Bálint H. trying to deceive customers with fake drugs in Dob Street. When he was stopped, he voluntarily handed over two sachets of nearly 10 grams of herbal derivatives. He said that he does not sell drugs, just marjoram. He does this 2-3 times a week to supplement his income. He was also found with nearly 5 grams of white powder in two sachets, which he said was powdered sugar.
The man was brought in for sampling, and was questioned at the District VII police station on suspicion of attempted fraud. However, he refused to confess. The bags were confiscated and investigators ordered experts to examine their contents, police.hu reports.
