Video: arrested politician chased Viktor Orbán in a car
Bálint Szabó, an MP from Szeged, chased Viktor Orbán, Hungary’s Prime Minister, for kilometres. A video of the incident was also released from an on-board camera.
Blikk has obtained a video from an on-board camera showing Bálint Szabó, a member of Szeged’s local government, chasing Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on 21 September last year. Szabó drove into the convoy of vehicles in Budapest.
Interestingly, Szabó had been in custody for months, yet he was zigzagging between lanes for kilometres behind a Mercedes, sometimes reaching speeds of 110 kilometres per hour.
The politician from Szeged repeatedly performed dangerous manoeuvres and suddenly cut in between the car in front of him and other road users.
Hvg.hu reports that the recording is listed as evidence in the indictment against a man accused of assaulting an official and a traffic offence.
According to the prosecutor’s office, Szabó also violated seven points of the Highway Code, and the Szeged MP has had several clashes with the police.
