The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) examined more than 20,000 higher education institutions. Based on the education metric, BME is 215th in the world.
Among more than 20,000 higher education institutions examined by CWUR, 2,000 were ranked. The Budapest University of Technology and Economics was ranked 215th this year in the Education Rank, one of the essential categories. With this outstanding result, BME in the Education Rank category overtook 20 of the top 100 higher education institutions in the global ranking. Among them are leading Asian institutions such as China’s Fudan, South Korea’s Seoul National University, and the National University of Singapore. It also overtook the 23rd University of Toronto, the 39th Paris City University, the 94th Erasmus University in Rotterdam, and 11 universities from the United States of America, including the University of Southern California and Pennsylvania State University. None of the 314 Chinese universities included in the ranking achieved a higher score in this indicator than the University of Technology.
In the 2023 global CWUR world ranking of 2,000, BME is 947. With this ranking, it belongs to 4.7% of the world’s best universities. Sixty-two institutions from the Visegrad countries are included in the hierarchy. Six universities from Hungary were among the best. Among the technical universities of the Visegrád countries, BME achieved the best ranking in both the Education Rank indicator and the Employability Rank, 6th (1302nd) and 4th (936th) in the Research Rank indicator.
