Budapest’s coolest place with breathtaking panorama opens soon
The former seat of the Hungarian Postal Services, the so-called Postapalota, has a beautiful spire recalling Middle Age bastions. And soon, it will be opened to the public. The view is breathtaking, so you should not miss it when visiting Budapest.
According to pestbuda.hu, the spire with the roof terrace will be open to the public from 15 June. Furthermore, there will be a café to make the wonderful experience complete. The panorama will be jaw-dropping, opening the view to a yet unknown part of Buda. Postapalota said in 2020 that their roof terrace and spire would be a viewing platform. In the building, there is Hungary’s famous money museum which welcomed its 100,000th guest this week. Here is a photo of the building:
The Postapalota is the most well-known building of the Széll Kálmán Square in Buda. It was built following the plans of Gyula Sándy in 1926. The Hungarian Postal Services left it in 2008. Since then, it has been vacant. In 2018, the National Bank of Hungary bought it and started reconstruction. The building was reopened on 15 March 2022. Pestbuda.hu said that visitors would be able to enjoy the view of the Buda Castle, Vérmező and Hűvösvölgy from the terrace and the spire.
