Drunk driver on a rampage
In Kaposvár, Hungary, a driver was driving drunk without a licence, the police website reports. The police gave the driver a clear signal, but he did not stop, instead he stepped on the gas and started a hair-raising getaway in the centre of Kaposvár.
The police herded the drunk driver, who was a danger to himself and others, into a dead end street where there was no way out for the rampaging driver. The man then jumped out of the car and tried to run away from the police, but was unsuccessful.
The patrol officers then found that the 29-year-old resident did not have a driving licence. He also tested positive for alcohol. Following the incident, the man was brought to the Kaposvár Police Station, where he was prosecuted for the offence of driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was also questioned for driving without a licence and was taken into custody for an offence.
Motorbike accident in the Danube bend
In Visegrád, not far from Budapest, a road was closed because many people were using it as a race track. A sign prohibiting motorbikes was recently put up on the road to Fellegvár in the Danube bend. According to rtl.hu, the ban is in force every year between 1 March and 1 November.
According to a video on TikTok, local motorcyclists are not happy about this new regulation. The motorcyclist who took the video got into an argument with the police, who pulled him over.
The municipality said that motorcyclists will now be able to access the Citadel from the Great Fork Ski Slope. Those living or working in the area affected by the traffic restrictions will be able to use this section of the road with a permit.
According to the municipality, “the section of the Panorama road leading to and from the city is used daily by motorcyclists and motorists as a racetrack for high-speed traffic, following last year’s renovation, compared to previous years. The daily lives of the residents of our town and the peace and quiet of our hotel guests are being greatly disturbed by this activity, which has been the subject of many reports”.
