Brutal bee invasion caused problems in Budapest, several people injured
Thousands of feral bees escaped in Budapest, injuring several. A beekeeper abandoned them when the hive fell off his truck.
Blikk reports that a beekeeper abandoned thousands of wild bees in the 11th district of Budapest. Beekeeper Tibor Boros said he received a call in the afternoon that “a beehive was lying in the middle of the road”. Boros didn’t believe it at first, but it turned out the caller was right.
According to 24.hu, a beehive with several compartments was lying on the road. The catcher said that the hive’s fastener probably broke, that is how the bee cargo could have fallen off the truck.
Around six to seven thousand bees had escaped from the crates, and in their fright, they started to attack. According to one witness, several people were stung.
The crates were finally removed from the road by the swarm catcher. The bees later calmed down and the hive was gone the next day.
