PHOTOS: Georgian artist celebrated in Budapest with art therapy
According to the Embassy of Georgia in Hungary, on July 19, they celebrated outstanding Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani with heads of diplomatic missions in Hungary and media representatives. The event “Pirosmani and Wine” was organised by the diplomatic mission of the Caucasian country at the premises of the French Institute in Budapest.
The Ambassador of Georgia Mrs. Tamara Liluashvili introduced the artist’s life and work, as well as the story behind the creation of his painting “the Actress Margarita”, to the guests of the event. Participants painted their own reproduction of Pirosmanis’s work under the guidance of Ms. Marysia Ananiewska, Instructor from Paint and Drink – Budapest, Ljubljana, while tasting Georgian wines.
The best reproductions were awarded with a bottle of Georgian wine. The winners were Mr Christo Polendakov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Hungary and Ms Noémi Pálfalvi, Acting Director of International Relations at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium – MCC.
The event, aimed to raise awareness of Georgian art and wine, contained elements of art therapy. Heads of the Diplomatic Missions accredited to Hungary, as well as media representatives, including Alpár Kató, our website’s owner, attended it, the embassy said on Facebook.
