With the summer season well underway and temperatures starting to rise, many will be planning their days out in the sun. One popular summer activity is picnics, but where is the best place to have one during the warmer months?
With amazing destinations dotted all around Europe, travellers might be unaware of the options available to them abroad or within their own borders. That’s why the global e-commerce platform Ubuy, has done the hard work for you and ranked the best European capital cities to have a picnic this summer. To do this, they analysed the top three parks according to TripAdvisor in each location and examined the TikTok views and Instagram posts for each park’s hashtag.
They also investigated the star rating for each park on both TripAdvisor and Google Reviews to highlight the cities with the best parks according to the public.

The data revealed Budapest ranked as the third-best capital city in Europe for a picnic this summer, scoring 76 out of 81 points. The three parks examined were; Margaret Island, Városliget and Millenáris. Across Google and TripAdvisor reviews, the parks had an average rating of 4.5.
#MargaretIsland received 45.7 million views on TikTok and was used on 75,457 Instagram posts with visitors keen to share their snaps in the picturesque park. Additionally, #Városliget received 6.1 million views, while #Millenáris was used on 9,149 different Instagram posts.
