Online services down at major Hungarian bank – UPDATE: services restored
Due to an unexpected error, Erste Bank’s online services have been interrupted. Customers may also experience disruptions to online payments.
Due to technical reasons, there are disruptions on the digital interfaces of Erste Bank. The George Web and George App internet banking and application services are completely down and currently unavailable, napi.hu reports.
The bank’s customers may also experience disruptions when shopping online. Card payments, cash withdrawals and deposits can still be made through ATMs. Card blocking is still available, the bank said. Transfers initiated to Erste will be received and timed transfers will also be completed.
Digital services will continue to be available for business customers, with disruptions only for residential customers. In a statement, the bank apologised for the inconvenience and stressed that they are working to correct the error as soon as possible.
