Hampton by Hilton
Economx reported Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Center opened in the heart of the Hungarian capital, Terézváros, on the 6th of September. The Hilton hotel chain has 22 sub-brands, one of which is Hampton by Hilton. This was the debut of this sub-brand in Hungary. Anita Siklósi, the Hotel Manager said:
We’re proud to introduce Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre, where the spirit of Hampton comes alive. Our team is passionate about delivering personalised and warm service, ensuring every guest enjoys a truly unforgettable stay. As we open our doors, we extend a heartfelt invitation to experience the exceptional opportunity of exploring the renowned capital of Hungary.
Hilton operates more than 2,800 such Hamptons worldwide. One has recently opened in Târgu Mureș (Marosvásárhely), and there are similar hotels in Vienna and Warsaw as well.
The construction
The three-star, cosy hotel is six storeys high and has 219 rooms. The new hotel in the city centre was built on a greenfield site. The only stipulation from the building authority was to keep the appearance of the former three apartment buildings there. The hotel is located between Dessewffy Street and Zichy Jenő Street. The 15,000 square metre building was designed by Bálint and Partners Architects’ Office Ltd. The general construction was carried out by T-Trans Főép Ltd. The constructions took 302 working days, 909 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 8,000 cubic metres of concrete.
About the hotel
The Hampton by Hilton is currently operating at 50% occupancy. However, by autumn, it is estimated to reach 60–70% occupancy. Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre favours families. The hotel offers free accommodation for children under 18 in their parent’s room. Room rates start at EUR 90, but it depends on the demand. Conveniently, the price also includes breakfast. According to the hotel’s management, guests usually come for three nights. Most of the visitors are from the US and Israel, but there has also been a group from India. Thus, 98% of the guests are foreigners.
The new Hilton hotel in Budapest features a restaurant, a bar, a café, a deli, a grocery shop and laundry facilities. Moreover, there is a gym for guests who like to stay active and a small indoor garden as well. The good news for people considering staying at this hotel is that the check-out time is at noon instead of 10 am. The rooms are non-smoking, but pets are welcome.
