Much-awaited innovation comes to Budapest metro lines
One-step ticket validation will soon be available on Budapest metro services via the app.
According to the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), the BudapestGO app will offer fast, simple NFC ticket validation on all metro lines from the beginning of October.
This one-step ticket validation facility should be located near the conventional ticket validation machines at the entrance of metro lines 1, 2 and 3.
The new system has been in operation for weeks on metro line 4, as well as on surface vehicles. It allows passengers to process their tickets or season tickets up to ten seconds faster.
For NFC validation, it is not necessary to open the BudapestGO app, just unlock the smartphones and hold them steady in front of the NFC sticker for 1-2 seconds.
With the help of NFC technology, the BudapestGO app detects if there is a valid ticket or pass on the device and automatically validates the ticket or scans the pass, according to pénzcentrum.hu.
