President Katalin Novák met European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Novák said on Facebook on Tuesday.
“We had to discuss many difficult issues,” Novák said.
The talks focused on Hungarian youth and the Erasmus+ programme, she said.
“I hope that Hungarian students won’t be stripped of the opportunities brought about by studies abroad.”
The president’s office said that Novák is slated to participate on Wednesday in the panel discussion entitled Defending Europe’s United Front which will focus on defence cooperation in Europe and NATO’s enlargement. Polish President Andrzej Duda, Belorussian activist Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic are also slated to attend, the Sándor Palace said.
