Strikes may annul several Budapest flights this week
On 1 and 2 February, there will be a general strike affecting hundreds of Finnair flights all over the world. That may include even their Budapest-Helsinki route.
Budapest flights in trouble?
According to turizmus.com, Finnair will cancel almost 550 flights on 1 and 2 February due to the strike. As a result, they will only be able to operate a few flights. Therefore, lots of passengers rebooked their tickets last week.
The flight cancellations and the redirection of the passengers started yesterday morning, and it will take approximately two days due to the high number of passengers. The airline offered its passengers to reschedule their flights to dates before or after the strike but until 15 March at the latest.

There is no information on the official website of the Helsinki Airport on whether the strike will affect the Budapest-Helsinki flights.
Finnair said ground handling and other ground services will also be hindered during the strike. Therefore, passengers of operating flights should prepare for delays.
Not only Finnair will go on strike this week
In Germany, security services of the big German airports will strike from Thursday paralysing lots of airports, index.hu wrote. The strike will last between Thursday morning and night. 25 thousand security guards, all members of the Verdi trade union, are expected to partake in the protest.
