Hungarian politics in crisis: will the paedophile scandal affect elections?
The recent paedophile scandal has sent shockwaves across the nation as Katalin Novák pardoned a man involved in covering up a sex abuse case at a children’s home.
The scandal has spread like wildfire through Hungary, and everyone, regardless of their political alignment, demanded justice. This public outcry has thrown the country’s political landscape into disarray, with politicians scrambling to regain control as the situation spirals out of hand. Let’s delve into the current state of this chaotic political arena.
No justification for the pardon
The decision, signed by Katalin Novák and allegedly prearranged, with the co-signature of the Justice Minister, has severely tarnished her reputation. In the eyes of the public, both Novák and Judit Varga, the Justice Minister in the Orbán cabinet, bear responsibility for this scandal. Following the widespread backlash, both have resigned. Even though the ruling party has just lost it’s two most prominent female politicians, no substantial explanations have been provided. This silence from the government and the Prime Minister suggests an attempt to evade thorough scrutiny of the matter. It appears Viktor Orbán is distancing himself from the scandal, leaving the blame on the shoulders of the two women. Yet, there remain pressing questions demanding answers.
Resignation and reverberations
The resignations come at a critical juncture, with the European elections looming. Since Judit Varga was meant to be the lead candidate of Hungary, the issue of representation remains unresolved.
In response to the resignations, Judit Varga’s ex- husband also spoke up. Péter Magyar, a figure closely associated with Fidesz’s inner circle, took everyone by surprise when he stood up to speak his mind. The video, in which he accused senior Fidesz figures, quickly gained traction and currently has more than 800 000 views on Youtube. In the video, Magyar talks about the ways senior Fidesz figures pursue monetary gains behind the scenes. He also mentions the role Antal Rogán plays in these major schemes. Rogán, the minister overseeing intelligence services and unofficially dictating media narratives, has conspicuously vanished from public view, declining to comment on the matter when approached by The Guardian.

Have a BIG BIG Read – Hungary, and get the factual message that Albert Einstein in a quote sends OUT :
“We can’t SOLVE todays problems with the MENTALITY that Created them.”
Be Not FOOLED, the world’s jails are filled with criminals. That does not mean that everyone in the world is a criminal. However, the problem can be solved and is being solved by laws. Remove criminals from society. Therefore, the quote is not applicable in today’s society.
Einstein was not and is not the smartest person in the world. An American teenager’s IQ is higher than Einsteins. Quotes of noted person should not be parroted in the 21st century.
Dont worry maria! The jails of Hungary will be soon empty! Our lord and protector of the country will soon release all people smugglers from it 🙂 the guy that should be on jail is Mr Orban for jeopardizing the future of his country
Exactly Jose!
