Absolutely shameless that fossil fuels are being burned like this when our entire planet is at risk from overuse of dirty oil for all of our necessities alone. Such activities are just unecceptable, just like airshows, travel that does not directly benefit a person’s job, or acts that cause terrible pollution. Like burning forests for animal grazing when trees are so precious for cleaning our air, producing lumber for houseing. People just keep doing the same old selfish things and others support it with their time and money. Fools.
It should also be noted that the people driving the cars in this rally are not professional race drivers. They are amateurs. This is also not the first time there have been deaths at this location in the race. There were deaths in 2006 and 2007. At this location, there is a point in the road where most cars go airborne, with all four wheels off the ground. As a result, many spectators gather there to watch this and take photographs. There are virtually no restrictions on where spectators can stand. The enterprise that organized the rally is going to be in big legal trouble because of this accident. Ironically, there really wasn’t much damage to the car that caused all this death and injury.
killing for fun. vehicular homicide should not be excused under any p retense. choices have consequences. for the drivers, the people gather to watch. it’s not like those who were hit were going about their daily business by the sounds of it. they put themselves into harms’ way.
