Budapest ‘party tram’ will not commute in April
Budapest’s beloved tram line 6 will not operate between 1 and 4, 8 and 11, and 22 and 25 April at night. According to the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), replacement buses will carry the passengers at night.
According to index.hu, the maintenance work will not affect weekend service when the ‘party trams’ on the 4-6 line are the busiest. That is because they commute on the Grand Boulevard of Budapest, where most restaurants, clubs, and bars are located, so tourists and locals travel with them from one place to another.
The replacement buses on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will commute on the road instead of the tram tracks. Therefore, you may get on the buses at the bus stations. Furthermore, they will not stop at Margaret Island station.
