PHOTOS, VIDEO: Tourist centre at Lake Balaton wonderfully renewed

Following three years of renovation work, the Szántódpuszta Manor on the southern shore of Lake Balaton was opened in December 2023. Now, some amazing photos and a video of the new look were shared.

Szántód-Szantódpuszta is located on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, opposite the beautiful Tihany peninsula. The place is listed in the founding charter of the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany, an outstanding example of Hungarian monuments, Economx writes.

The estate covers 20 hectares. During the renovation 13 structures and buildings were restored by the National Heritage Conservation Development Nonprofit Ltd. (Nemzeti Örökségvédelmi Fejlesztési Nonprofit Kft.) in order to present the relics of the farming and lifestyle of the past in their original location, Magyar Építők writes.

The Manor also includes a stables building, the Horse Stable (Lóistálló), with a gross floor area of almost 800 square metres, which has also been renovated.

The news portal also notes that the renovations will make the Manor a rewarding experience for those interested in cultural attractions. Visitors to Szántódpuszta can experience the daily life of the “Living Manor”.
