PM Orbán’s political director: EU now super state where independent viewpoints ‘are quashed’

The European Union has turned into a super state where member states that express an independent viewpoint are quashed and ostracised, Balázs Orbán, the prime minister’s political director, said on Monday at a conference held by the National University of Public Service (NKE).

Orbán said the EU was guided by the principle that Brussels should be given “as much power as possible” because it “knew best what to do with it.”

Brussels bureaucrats “cannot find solutions to problems, or they don’t want to,” he said. Yet they still want to take over the powers of member states “in more and more policy areas,” citing migration and foreign policy.

The political director also said Europe was “vulnerable” due to its precarious supply of raw material and energy due to “bad decision-making”. Member states, he added, would continue to bear the burden of high prices and dwindling competitiveness.

He said that instead of ideological approaches, the EU “should return to rational decision-making” and build up relationships rather than pursue policies of exclusion.

  1. Independent opinions are not squashed, but demands from a country that makes up less than 3% of the population are laughed at like a small child demanding another ice cream or they will scream and cry. Well, continue crying like babies, Victor and friends. YOU need the EU, the EU does not need you.

  2. Spoken by a Politician who believes a country is best ruled by Decree?

Again. Our Politicians love pointing out the EU is “all wrong”. However and for some reason, they stand alone in their assessment, blackmailing all the other twenty six (26) Members because Hungary is right, and everyone else is wrong.

But dear EU, please send us the money – so we can pay our teachers, doctors, reduce our growing deficit: we are a TAKER

  3. EU Parliament failed. The standard of living of Europeans dropped. In most countries young people cannot afford to buy or even rent houses or apartments. Why would anyone try to protect a government that catered to globalists and failed the population.
