Moderate price rise at Sziget Festival this year: here are the prices

Change language:
Hungary’s emblematic Sziget Festival, attracting tens of thousands of tourists to visit Budapest, will kick off tomorrow. Thanks to a Reddit post, we already know how much drinks will cost at the Island of Freedom. The price rise is moderate compared to last year, and there will be budget foods available.
Moreover, the organisers will waive the HUF 50 extra DRS redemption fee (Deposit Refund System). Another good news for foreign tourists is that the forint is again low against the euro.
Sziget Festival prices remain moderate for foreigners
According to telex.hu, draft beer (0.5l) will cost EUR 4.35, a can of beer will be between EUR 3.35 and EUR 5.5, and 1 dl of wine will start at EUR 2. Soft drinks will be around EUR 3.15, and you may buy mineral water for EUR 2.5. If you are in Hungary, you should try out our traditional spirit, the well-known pálinka. Prices will be between EUR 7.27 and 10 per 4 cl. The most expensive item on the price list is the Long Island Iced Tea, a special cocktail for EUR 15 (5 dl).

The organisers wrote they aimed to build a miniature city on Hajógyári Island and make all services comfortable for the guests. For example, there will be a mobile pharmacy, and theatre plays will be in air-conditioned spaces.

With prices of drinks I could live with, just the pathetic line up is what makes this festival horrible. They used to bring good artists back in the day.
