Jesse Eisenberg in Budapest
Jesse Eisenberg is a renowned American actor best known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in the critically acclaimed film ‘The Social Network’, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. He gained further recognition for his role as an illusionist in the popular ‘Now You See Me’ franchise. Now, the third instalment of the heist film series is being shot in Budapest. Jesse Eisenberg might have had a growing interest towards illusions and magic, as he visited a magician’s shop in the heart of the Hungarian capital.
The shop owner’s experience with the actor
Blikk writes that the American actor was very kind to the shop’s owner. István SzabĂł, owner of the magician’s shop, says:
Although the magic tricks in ‘Now You See Me’ are film tricks or stunts performed by a hand double, Jesse Eisenberg, perhaps influenced by the films and his magician character, has a serious interest in magic. He was looking for a specific trick, a deck of cards stitched together, but he didn’t settle on a single branch of magic.
They even took a photo together.
Mastering new tricks
István SzabĂł was stunned by the actor‘s interest. Jesse Eisenberg was more than happy to learn some new tricks from István’s colleague:
My colleague, Vince, showed him lots of tricks. He was interested in the shell game, but he also bought a mentalist trick. In fact, he was keen to learn the card-colouring trick, which is in the film, but he didn’t actually perform it there. So Vince gave him a ten-minute crash course. Who knows, he might even use the skills he learned here not only in real life but in the film!
