Cinema City ticket prices increase in Budapest from November, introducing new junior ticket option
Starting in November, Cinema City is raising its ticket prices, alongside introducing a new ticket option aimed at younger viewers. The price hikes vary across ticket types, with the most common tickets seeing an increase of roughly HUF 200–300. A new “Junior” ticket is also being introduced, offering a discount for viewers under 16, specifically for films rated as suitable for children up to age 12.
From 1 November, the updated ticket prices will be applied across Cinema City locations, with some key price changes for Budapest as follows:
- 2D Adult: HUF 3,100 (EUR 7.6) (previously HUF 2,900)
- 2D Student/Senior/Disabled: HUF 2,600 (EUR 6.4) (previously HUF 2,400)
- 3D Adult: HUF 3,300 (EUR 8) (previously HUF 3,100) (plus HUF 400 for 3D glasses)
- 3D Student/Senior/Disabled: HUF 2,800 (EUR 6.9) (previously HUF 2,400)
- 2D IMAX Film: HUF 3,500 (EUR 8.6) (previously HUF 3,200)
- 2D IMAX Film Student/Senior/Disabled: HUF 3,000 (EUR 7.4) (previously HUF 2,700)
The newly introduced Junior ticket is available for children under 16 for age-appropriate movies (those rated suitable for up to age 12), IGN reports. Here’s the pricing for this ticket category:
- 2D Junior (under 16): HUF 2,300 (EUR 5.6)
- 3D Junior (under 16): HUF 2,500 (EUR 6.1) (plus HUF 400 for 3D glasses)
- 2D IMAX Junior (under 16): HUF 2,700 (EUR 6.6)
The full list of updated prices can be found on Cinema City’s website. Additionally, the popular Wednesday discount remains, allowing moviegoers to watch 2D films for HUF 2,200 (EUR 5.4) on non-holiday Wednesdays.
