Breaking – decrees about extended restrictions and reopening published
The relevant government decrees were published Saturday afternoon. They contain not only the prolongation of the restrictions but also how Hungary plans to reopen.
According to telex.hu, the restrictions remain in effect until April 8. The basic rules do not change: everybody has to wear a face mask, everybody should be at home by 8 pm, and some shops remain closed.Â
The second decree contains the plan of reopening. The prerequisite for that is 2.5 million inoculated people (who received at least their first jab). If that happens, the government will abbreviate the
curfew currently in effect to be between 10 pm and 5 am.
Furthermore, from that point on, all shops and service providers will be able to work as they did before March 8, when the government introduced the new and strict rules to contain the spread of the virus in the third wave. Moreover,
shops can remain open until 9:30 pm instead of closing at 7 pm.
The decrees contain the new rules regarding how shops can be open after Hungary reaches 2.5 million inoculated people. Based on that, in shops smaller than 10 square metres, there can only be one customer simultaneously with the shopkeeper. If the shop is bigger than 10 m², it
can have one customer for every 10 square metres.
Kids under 14 and supporters of people above 65 do not count. Furthermore, the rules concerning distance keeping or offering hand sanitisers remain in effect.
If somebody does not keep the rules, they can receive a fine ranging between EUR 300 and EUR 3,000. Furthermore, their facility can be closed down for up to one year.
Education in schools and kindergartens will continue online until at least April 19.
