FM Szijjártó praises Trump

“President Donald Trump’s stand for peace was the most significant moment in three years,” Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook on Saturday, following a meeting between the US and Ukrainian presidents.

“Yesterday made it clearer than ever who wants peace and who wants war, who seeks to end the bloodshed and who wants to prolong it at any cost,” Szijjártó said. “We hope President Trump succeeds in the US-Russia talks, as only an American-Russian agreement can restore peace to Central Europe,” he added.

  1. So, following that logic, the ones that made trianon deal should be praised as the best peace makers ans strongest men ever, right?

  2. Putin made war so if he is saying the weak make war Orban is saying that Putin is a weak leader. What exactly have any of these Fidesz a-holes done to make Putin and Russia stop attack Ukraine? They have done nothing except encourage Russia, buy their oil and gas, obstruct any sanctions against them and obstruct any defence of Ukraine which is under attack. Hungarians you live in shame.

  3. Apologies for the multiple posts, I generally try to avoid.

Amidst all the chatter – this is Mr. Rubio on The Trump Peace Plan. Judge for yourself.

“QUESTION: The British prime minister said this morning that the United Kingdom and France are working on a peace plan with Ukraine to present to the U.S. Do you know where things stand with that plan?

SECRETARY RUBIO: No. I mean, I’ve talked to both of the foreign ministers of France and the UK yesterday, and I explained to them sort of the events leading up to what you saw on Friday.

Look, I think what’s really important here is to understand the dynamic. The President is basically saying there’s this horrible war, it’s been going on for three years, it is a bloody stalemate, a meatgrinder type war, and he wants it to end. How does it end? It’s very simple. The only way it ends is if Vladimir Putin comes to a negotiating table. And right now, President Trump is the only person on Earth who has any chance whatsoever of bringing him to a table to see what it is he would be willing to end the war on.

Now, maybe their claims or what they want, their demands, will be unreasonable. We don’t know, but we have to bring them to the table.”

  4. Most people do not understand that the past cannot be changed. President Trump was trying to guarantee Ukraine’s future. Most European leaders including von der Leyen, Starmer and Macron had 3 years to improve things they failed. Europe’s attitude and its support of extension of war will only increase the population of cemeteries of Ukraine.
