Orbán cabinet campaigns against Ukraine’s EU accession: Weber, von der Leyen, Zelensky on billboards

Hungary’s government has launched an information campaign concerning the upcoming referendum on Ukraine’s EU admission because “Brussels is preparing to make another landmark decision without seeking the public’s opinion,” a state secretary of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office said on Wednesday.
In a video on Facebook, Balázs Hidvéghi said Brussels wanted the people to “pay the price of Ukraine’s forced EU membership”.
Hidvéghi said European People’s Party leader Manfred Weber, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “have already agreed that they will force through Ukraine’s EU membership within a few years, and anyone who dares oppose this will be attacked mercilessly”.
He said the only reason why Tisza Party leader Peter Magyar had been allowed to join the EPP because he had accepted their condition that he would stand with Ukraine, even if it meant opposing the opinion of the Hungarian people. Magyar’s ongoing signature drive Hidvéghi added was actually about “delivering to Brussels a result that shows that Hungarians stand by Ukraine, because they’re even capable of forgery”.

Ukraine’s admission to the EU posed several dangers
Hungarians, he said, had a right to know that Ukraine’s admission to the EU posed several dangers that would lead to “irreversible change in the life of Hungary and all of Europe”. “This wold cost Hungary and every Hungarian family a lot of money,” he added.
“We would lose significant amounts of EU funds, they would deprive Hungarians of agricultural subsidies, the Ukrainian underworld would be let loose on Hungary, bringing with it crime, arms and drug smuggling,” the state secretary said. “The market would be flooded with poor quality and often dangerous Ukrainian food products, the pension system would be upended, not to mention the imported epidemics that would endanger children and the elderly.”
“Let’s not let them make a decision over our heads,” Hidvéghi said.

The commentary about the underworld seems a bit racist, or at least unfairly prejudiced to me.
Perhaps Hungary’s future is not with Europe. That’s self-determination, and very important, particularly in light of collective social trauma like the Trianon “Peace” Treaty that made Ungvár Uzhhorod much like Ukrainians could say if Russia is able to take the Donbas, except technically Austria-Hungary was culpable in ways Ukraine isn’t in terms of Crimea and then the subsequent expansion under Mr. Putin.
But what puzzles me is this.
When Mr. Orbán, who had just finished the graduate work Mr. Soros paid for stood over the coffins of the Martyrs of 1956- at the place commemorating the Generals who died as Martyrs of 1848- what did he mean by saying “nincs többé?”
He said, in 1989, the same year the Tiananmen Square protest- which still can’t be discussed in China led by Chairman Xi who recieved a full military welcome, just like the internationally adjudicated at least potential war criminal Mr. Netanyahu- that the last coffin was for his Generation and failed Eastern promises and exclusion from Europe.
What happened, why, and why will he not discuss why he changed so much?
A cynic could rightly point to something like Mr. Gyürsány’s speech at Balaton but then it almost seems contextually earnest (noting, for whatever it’s worth that I have effectively zero patience for much of what Mr. Gyürsány says).
In all of this, I wonder what Nagy Imre would think as a reformer, even, as was pointed out, as a Communist who could question his holy Communist taboos. I really do.
Who does Hungary think will be in the last coffin now? Did it change?
Does nobody there ask Mr. Orbán?
Here’s the speech, Mr. Orbán is kind enough to post it on his very own channel. I do wish more subtitle options would be available for foreign viewers.

Hungary should never be in the same club as her enemy.
russia’s goals for Ukraine are very simple, they’re often repeated.
russia doesn’t want:
-a country called Ukraine to exist
-people who call themselves Ukrainian to exist
-a language called Ukrainian to exist
And russia has Hungary’s full support.
Shameful.
Russia wanted Ukraine to stay a buffer state, this should be understandable by all idiots. Ukranians have oppressed all minorities including Hungarians that ended up through no fault of their own in Ukraine. Hungary should always be on the side of Hungarian and they have every right to support Russia’s effort to soundly defeat Ukraine.
