Fidesz accuses Tisza Party of supporting fast-tracked EU membership for Ukraine

“The Tisza Party cannot deny the importance of Ukraine’s European Union entry … in Brussels, Tisza MEPs have supported a resolution on the European Union’s budget that includes passages with regard to Ukraine,” Csaba Dömötör, MEP of ruling Fidesz, told a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Through adopting the resolution, Tisza’s MEPs “voted full and unconditional support for Ukraine … and voted for the EU to spend even more money on Ukraine and that Ukraine should proceed towards EU membership,” the MEP said. He said that, according to statements by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Ukraine could be granted a fast-track procedure to become a member with full rights even before 2030.
He accused Tisza of trying to downplay the importance of the issue. Dömötör warned that Ukraine’s possible membership, being “an issue involving thousands of billions of forints”, could fundamentally impact the opportunities of the European and Hungarian economy.

Anyone with a couple semi-functional brain cells knows that Peter Magyar does what he is told to do by his sponsors. And since his sponsors are the E.U. and other globalist-socialist-fascist entities, you do the math.
It’s not Peter Margyar; it’s Peter van den Leyen. That’s what you’re getting with him.
I don’t think this line of attack has any merit, particularly after Fidesz were strong supporters of Ukraine’s EU integration for so long. The majority of Tisza supporters are positive towards Ukraine joining the EU. It’s an attempt by Fidesz to prevent its fan base from defecting, but this isn’t an important source of votes for Tisza and the next election won’t be won on the basis of poaching voters from Fidesz. It’s all about opposition voters coalescing around Tisza and motivating these voters to head the polling booths if they want to see change in 2026. Really, Fidesz’s best chances would rest in just upping their game rather than endless smear campaigns against the opposition but they’ve left it too late with only a year to go and a hole that’s now too deep to big their way out of.
