Budapest airport shuttle to operate more frequently

The 100E Airport Express, between the city centre and Liszt Ferenc International Airport (touching Kálvin Square), will run every 6 minutes during peak hours on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, and every 6-7 minutes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Saturdays, 100E buses will run every 6-7 minutes in the morning and every 7-8 minutes in the afternoon, BKK wrote. The buses run 24/7.

According to BKK, the frequency rise was a must due to the expected increase in airport traffic during summer. Furthermore, the company is preparing for increased traffic during the four-day long weekend between 1 and 4 May. BKK clarified that the operation of the airport shuttle is in line with airport traffic. Therefore, in the mornings, buses leave more frequently in the direction of Budapest Airport, while in the afternoon, more buses run in the opposite direction. Pay&GO: the easiest solution for you

BKK introduced the Pay&GO service on the airport shuttles two years ago for a testing period. The digital service allows buyers to pay for the ticket and validate it while paying. As a result, no paper-based ticket is generated. Passengers can prove that they have a ticket with their credit card.

Passengers buy 40% of their 100E tickets using this option. Regularly, they buy their return ticket as well, because the 100E service is a comfortable and quick solution to travel between downtown and Hungary’s main airgate.

Apart from the Pay&GO service, you may buy your ticket for the airport shuttle with the BudapestGO app, the ticket vending machines of BKK and the customer service desks, which you may find even at the airport. Click HERE for a map to help you find the nearest option to buy your ticket.
