The nostalgia season started today with tram, bus, and trolley bus classics commuting on different Budapest routes. Compared to last year, a serious development is that you can pay by card on the spot, and retro schedules have been expanded. At the end of the season, you may travel with Tamara, the first Soviet Budapest metro carriage fully restored recently.
According to the Budapest Transport Company (BKK), 2025 will be more spectacular concerning nostalgic public transport vehicles than any other year before. Therefore, BKK increases capacity, introduces new lines and stations into the timetable and introduces on-site paying by credit/bank card.
