Former Hungarian minister Miklós Kásler dies at 75

Prof. Dr. Miklós Kásler, the former Minister of Human Resources in Hungary’s Orbán government, has passed away at the age of 75. The news was confirmed by several government officials on social media and later by the Ministry of Interior.
Miklós Kásler, an oncologist, university professor, and doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, served as minister from 2018 to 2022. He was later appointed honorary president of the Magyarságkutató Institute.
Born on 1 March 1950 in Budapest, Kásler spent much of his childhood in Sárvár. According to Telex, he often credited his deeply religious upbringing and early education in Sárvár for shaping his moral and professional values.
The Ministry of Interior described Kásler as “a dedicated scholar who offered his suffering in his 76th year to Christ for the Hungarian nation.” Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
